During the course the students are being acquainted with the most important facts of Lithuanian literature from the end of the 19th century till nowadays. The main emphasis is placed on the most significant literary trends, dominant genres and stylistic variations, the problems of the chronology of Lithuanian literature are being related to historical and cultural situation in Lithuania. The Grand Duchy of Lithuania was a common entity for Lithuanians, Poles, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Jews, and many other nations. This shared political entity, existing for five hundred years, was annexed by Russia at the end of the 18th century. In the 19th century, intensive nationalist movements occurred here, and in the 20th century, it split into national states. How is the legacy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania divided today? Why and how does the teaching of history differ in neighboring countries' secondary schools? How do propaganda wars and geopolitical tensions appear in this context? Where are the boundaries between national narratives and critical history, between storytelling and science?

The aim of the course is to teach the students to understand a non-complicated communicative situation and enable them to actively participate in it. The students’ practical language usage skills are developed and applied with regard to the topics relevant for beginners: introducing oneself and others, describing objects and spaces in the city, foods and meals, talking about family, and professions. The course is meant for the students who know Lithuanian already. During the course the students are to enrich their Lithuanian vocabulary, to repeat previously acquired knowledge on Lithuanian grammar (the usage of reflexive verbs and pronominal forms of adjectives and participles) and to learn new grammatical material (the usage of the participles and other forms of the verbs), to develop conversational, reading and writing skills. The course is meant for those who have already reached the level B1. During the course, the students learn to express themselves better: to use grammatical forms, constructions, and words correctly, developing the ability to tell their thoughts with longer and more informative sentences and to create a longer discourse. The aim of the course is to acquire such competence of communication in Lithuanian that is sufficient in all situations of everyday life, i.e., to become an independent Lithuanian language user. In Lithuania, the field of logistics occupies a significant part of the economy. Lithuanian carriers and freight forwarders are known and valued far beyond Lithuania's borders. Large-scale projects are being implemented in Lithuania to strengthen the country's logistics potential and opportunities. Competent logistics managers are needed to coordinate business activities and projects in the bioeconomy sector. The goal of the study program is to train business logistics specialists capable of creatively applying the results of fundamental and applied scientific research in making and implementing innovative solutions for the improvement and development of the bioeconomy sector and business logistics, especially in rapidly changing business environments.
