Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), which has maintained a close relationship with the Lithuanian Diaspora for more than three decades, invited members of world Lithuanian communities, academics, politicians, teachers and pupils of Lithuanian schools, representatives of Lithuanian organizations that unite world Lithuanians and everyone interested in getting to know the Lithuanian Diaspora better, for a discussion.

The forum, organized by the Lithuanian World Community (LWC) together with Vytautas Magnus University and the Association for Getting to Know World Lithuanians (AGKWL), took place on October 21, and was attended by Professor Birutė Galdikas, Professor Algirdas Avižienis, Dalia Asanavičiūtė, Member of the Seimas, Dalia Henke, Chairwoman of the Lithuanian World Community, also alumni of Vytautas Magnus University, namely Laurynas Misevičius, Chair of the Sports Affairs Commission of the Lithuanian World Community and Gediminas Karoblis, philosopher and professor at the Department of Music at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and many other honorable guests. The event was held under the auspices of Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

During the forum, the participants discussed the activities of world Lithuanian communities, the relationship of the diaspora with Lithuanian communities and organizations, and the goals of world Lithuanian regional communities (World Alytus Community, World Anykščiai Community, etc.) and youth organizations organized in Lithuania.
