What conditions give artists the opportunities to make, and audiences to enjoy, exciting entertainment? This lecture uses the multi-media spectacles of Orson Welles to reveal when the centers of theater, radio, film, TV and contemporary media open up to innovative creativity—and the forms that creativity can take in established genres, new arts and changes to the images of stars.
