On October 25, a meeting-discussion of Lithuanian youth from around the world took place at the Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) representative office in Vilnius (in the L. and F. Mockūnai space) with Professor Egidijus Aleksandravičius, Director of the Lithuanian Emigration Institute at VMU.
During the discussion, participants reflected on the past, present situation, and future prospects of the World Lithuanian Youth Association (PLJS) and the Foreign Lithuanian Students’ Club (ULSK). The conversation also focused on the importance of preserving and nurturing Lithuanian identity in a globalized era, and on attracting diaspora youth to join unions and organizations.
The discussion was moderated by Antanas Paukshtis, a member of the ULSK and PLJS boards. Participants included Prof. E. Aleksandravičius, Canadian-Lithuanian philosopher Rimas Čuplinskas, ULSK chairwoman Aira Gurauskaitė, and Gabriela Avalos Liesinskas Mockienė, a member of both the ULSK and PLJS boards.
