On December 9, the team of the VMU World Lithuanian University met with South American Lithuanians from the Foreign Lithuanian Students’ Club (ULSK) at the L. and F. Mockūnai space in Vilnius.

The meeting was attended by ULSK members Daina Juana Gariboldi, Viktoria Laima Gariboldi, Audra Luksas, Kovas Luksas from Argentina, and Alejandro Avalos Liesinskas from Venezuela. The students also met Gabriel Orentas, a Lithuanian from Venezuela who has been living in Lithuania for a longer period.

During a warm and engaging conversation, participants discussed cultural and social differences between countries, and the students shared their personal stories of arriving in and settling in Lithuania. The group also viewed the photography exhibition “The Golden Age of Venezuela through Lithuanian Eyes”, featuring works by Venezuelan-Lithuanian photographer Gediminas Orentas from the 1950s–60s, along with documentary moments from the Venezuelan Lithuanian community during the same period. Gabriel Orentas provided further insight into the photographs.
